All life on earth depends on plants, yet more than 2,000sq km of British countryside has been lost in just 6 years due to intensive farming, urban sprawl, eutrophication and extraction. Globally 34.9% of plants are estimated to be threatened with extinction. During Lockdown I became fascinated by the Millennium Seed Bank and its endeavours to save seeds for future research and I began to explore the power of colour and form through an exploration of these tiny miracles. Seeds are a recurring theme in my work.
